Chemical suppression systems are often used when there is not a safe location to vent an explosion or if the dust is harmful or toxic. They are designed to detect and neutralize fires and explosions at an early stage which prevents the pressure to rise above the strength of the dust collector. A control panel continuously monitors explosion pressure detectors and releases a suppressant powder into the dust collector within milliseconds of detecting an explosion.
